Plasmapheresis and Longevity: Our Current Perspective
You’ve probably seen the buzz.
Plasmapheresis, often called a blood detox or plasma exchange, is gaining attention in the longevity world.
The idea sounds futuristic. Take your blood, filter out the plasma, replace it with a clean solution, and maybe even slow down aging.
But what is it really? And does it actually work?
What It Really Is
Plasmapheresis, also known as therapeutic plasma exchange, is a real medical procedure. It works like this:
- Blood is taken from your body
- The plasma, the yellow fluid part, is removed
- A replacement solution like albumin or saline is added
- Your blood cells are returned to you
Doctors use this treatment in hospitals to help people with autoimmune and neurological conditions. In those cases, it can be life-saving.
Some early studies in animals suggest that removing old plasma might slow aging. That idea has sparked interest in the longevity world.
But we are far from proving this in healthy humans.
It has not been shown to slow aging. Not yet.
Where We Stand
We do not offer plasmapheresis at Ace Longevity.
Not because we are against innovation, but because we believe in safety, strong evidence, and long-term outcomes.
We are watching the science closely. But right now, there is not enough high-quality human data to support its use in otherwise healthy people.
We understand the excitement. But we do not introduce a treatment unless it is:
- Safe
- Proven
- Clinically meaningful
At this point, plasmapheresis does not meet that standard.
What We Focus On Instead
At Ace Longevity, we focus on what is already proven to work:
- Building and maintaining muscle
- Balancing hormones
- Reducing inflammation
- Supporting brain, heart, and metabolic health
- Tracking lab results and adjusting care with intention
These strategies are not trends. They are time-tested tools backed by science.
Final Word
We believe in the power of science and the importance of staying curious. But we also believe in being responsible.
Our job is to guide you toward care that is not just exciting, but truly effective.
Not just promising, but proven.
Not just interesting, but impactful for your long-term health.
